How to Do a Mid-Year Reset (Without Waiting for January)

We treat the start of the year like it is the only door. But we just passed the real middle of it, and almost no one stops to notice. This week I get into why July is the perfect moment to start fresh, what the sky is doing that makes it even better, a big change I am making at House of Undine, and the question I get asked constantly about practicing virtually. Let's get into it.
Why is mid-year a good time to reset?
Because it is a real turning point, not an arbitrary one. We passed the summer solstice on June 21, the longest day of the year, and from here the light slowly turns. We are halfway through the months and halfway through the light. It is a natural moment to look back at the progress you made, the road bumps you did not expect, and what you still want from the next six months. You do not have to wait for January.
What does the July 2026 astrology say about a reset?
The timing lines up almost too well. We are in Mercury retrograde from June 29 to July 23, a stretch whose whole energy is the "re": review, revisit, reset. It falls in Cancer season, the most inward, come-home-to-yourself sign. There is a new moon in Cancer on July 14, the traditional moment to plant intentions. Then the Sun moves into Leo on July 22 and Mercury turns direct on the 23rd, when the energy turns outward and it is time to act. I am into astrology, but I never let my chart make my decisions. A big change at House of Undine
I shared a personal update this week. I am closing my in-person events in Richmond and moving everything to virtual for now. It was a hard decision, because the relationships and partnerships there have meant so much to me. This is not the end of anything. Do virtual sound baths actually work?
Yes, and I explain exactly why so you can trust it. Most of the benefit comes from psychoacoustics, the way the crystal bowl frequencies travel through your ears and guide your brain out of its busy, alert state into a calmer, rest-and-restore state. That happens between the sound and your nervous system, so it comes through good headphones beautifully, often more intimately than a room. What you lose a little of at home is the vibroacoustics, the low frequencies you feel in your body, and that is the smaller piece.
