This is a short sound bath built around one intention: peace. Ten minutes, headphones in, and a gentle way back to your own center. It is part of my holiday sound bath series, and it works any time of year.
What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a meditative practice where you lie back and let crystal singing bowl frequencies wash over you. Despite the name, there is no water. You simply listen, and your mind begins to settle.
A sound bath for peace
Peace is a state of tranquility, a freedom from the thoughts that crowd and oppress. As Eckhart Tolle teaches, it does not depend on your circumstances. It lives in your ability to return to the present moment. And as Ashley Davis Bush writes, you already hold a deep reservoir of calm inside you. The work is simply learning to tap into it.
How to use this sound bath
Find a comfortable place to lie down, lower the lights, and put your headphones in. As the bowls begin, bring to mind something that brings you a sense of tranquility, and let that feeling settle into your body, your mind, and your heart as you drift with the sound. The holidays can be joyful, and they can also feel heavy. Let this be ten minutes that belong only to you.
